Recommended Well Baby, Well Child
and Teen Physical Schedule

We see children at regular intervals in order to maintain your child's health and discuss your child's growth, development, nutrition, and behavior.

First newborn visits should be scheduled 2 days after discharge from the hospital unless the hospital doctor recommends coming sooner.

Well Baby Visits are scheduled at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months old.

Well Child Visits are scheduled at 2, 3, 4 and 5 years old. After your child starts school, we recommend a Well Child Visit every other year, usually at 7, 9, and 11 years old.

Teen Physicals are usually scheduled at 13, 15 and 17 years old. Many teens need a physical before starting high school so please schedule your teen's appointment well in advance of any registration deadline.

Most insurance companies will not pay for a Well Child Visit or Teen Physical more than once every 12 months.

Call our offices to schedule an appointment.

Immunizations

Patient receiving a vaccinationImmunizations are provided at regular intervals as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics.  The following link will download the recommended schedule and the catch up schedule as a pdf file.

Government Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) are given to parents before vaccinations may be given.  VIS may be found at www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/

If your child needs to come in for immunizations only, please call our offices to schedule an appointment.

Phone Advice

During regular office hours, our office has trained medical staff to assist in answering telephone questions.  We welcome your questions and will do our best to answer urgent problems quickly and make necessary appointments for your child.

After-Hours Triage

After office hours, our on-call advice service provides phone advice or urgent care referrals.  When your child needs medical help after hours, the nurse will help you decide if your child needs home care, needs to be seen by a physician that night or can be seen the next day.  One of our pediatricians is always available for emergency care when the office is closed.  Please call our office phone numbers if you need urgent medical advice 24 hours a day.  In a life threatening emergency, you should go immediately to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

Meeting Expectant Parents

In both offices, we offer free “meet the doctor” visits to expectant parents.  At these visits, you may come and see our offices and meet one of our doctors.  Appointments are usually held after regular office hours at 5:30 p.m.  Please call our offices to make an appointment.  We look forward to meeting you and answering any question you may have about our office and the care of your newborn.
